Gifts for the Chef
If you have a Milled account, you can view the whole email here.
Context: This was the first email I wrote for Huckberry, and I’m still pretty proud of it. Fresh off a promotion, I was tasked to write this Holiday email, the opening write-up of which was to include no less than four links: two to cooking products in the assortment, one to a listicle-style Journal piece with Brad Leone’s gifting advice, and another to Brad’s interview on our podcast. And I did it in 85 words, 15 under the limit.
Gifts for the Chef
Here’s an idea: pay back the chef in your life for all the free eats (and maintain a spot on ther dinner party invite list) with a gift that hints at some menu ideas for next time. Give a Smithey dutch oven, get braised short ribs. Give a knife from Master Shin’s Anvil, get tuna sashimi. Brad Leone has a few ideas if you need gifting inspiration, and for regular inspiration check out his interview on our Traverse podcast—the guy is a walking pep talk.

The Seasoned Traveler
“When you’re traveling light, sneakers have to handle trails and restaurants, clothes have to mix and match, and your backpack has to be functional but sleek—nothing says “rob me, I’m a tourist” like a whole bunch of visible straps and zippers.”*
— Tony Le, VP of Merchandising, just visited four countries in four weeks.
*Grant here, yes I wrote the quote too!
